Speaking to Sky Sports, via HITC, specialist Paul Merson hailed free agent Diego Costa as the “perfect striker for West Ham” – and went on to say that he could be the “not found link” for manager David Moyes when the club considered new additions in January.

The former Premier League contract killer, who has proven himself in England with a total of 52 goals, could be won from West Ham’s point of view as he is available for negotiations.
Merson, in an interview with Sky, claimed that Costa would be the “perfect” signing for GSB come January,while the club would be thinking about supplements.
“It would be great for West Ham, perfect for West Ham, absolutely perfect,” said the former Arsenal Star.
“The way to play West Ham now, it could be the not found link, it could be the not found link.
“I think he is a phenomenal footballer, but he is also a warrior beyond that.”

Described as “incredible” by Chelsea’s former team-mate and left-back Flamengo Filipe Luis, the Spaniard could indeed be what West Ham lack in the forward positions.
As a prolific goalscorer, he could also sign up for free at the London Stadium – the only obstacle being his salary requirements.
The Hammers succeed or fail to conclude a deal, or even try to do so, remains to be seen – but strangely enough it has been doubtfuled to be “perfect” for the club.
